1. Introduction and Acceptance
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you ("User", "you") and PMD Solutions LLC, a company incorporated in the Republic of Armenia ("PMD Solutions", "we", "us", "our"), which operates the thing.am financial management platform available at startthing.com ("the Service").
By creating an account, using the Service, or clicking "I agree", you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, which are incorporated by reference.
If you are using the Service on behalf of a company or organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.
2. Definitions
* "Service" means the startthing.com web application, API, and all features available at startthing.com.
* "Account" means a registered user account on the Service.
* "Plan" means the subscription tier you select (Freemium, Standard, Advanced, Enterprise, or Custom).
* "Billing Period" means the monthly or annual period for which a Plan is purchased.
* "Add-On" means an optional paid feature available in addition to a Plan.
* "AI Credits" means the units of consumption used to access AI CFO Chat features.
* "Open Banking Data" means financial data retrieved from your bank accounts via your Open Banking provider.
* "Content" means data, text, files, and information you submit to or store within the Service.
3. Account Registration
To use paid features of the Service you must create an Account by providing your name, email address, and a password. You agree to:
* provide accurate, current, and complete information;
* keep your password confidential and not share it with others;
* notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access to your Account;
* be responsible for all activity that occurs under your Account.
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, if higher) to create an Account. We reserve the right to refuse registration or cancel Accounts at our discretion.

4.2 Additional User Seats
Standard, Advanced, and Enterprise Plans include 1, 2, and 5 users respectively. Additional users can be added at $7 per user per month.
5. Billing and Auto-Renewal
5.1 Payment Processing
All payments are processed by Paddle (paddle.com), our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles billing, invoicing, sales tax, and payment processing on our behalf. By purchasing a Plan, you also agree to Paddle's terms of service and privacy policy. PMD Solutions LLC does not directly collect or store your payment card information.
5.2 Auto-Renewal
All paid Plans renew automatically at the end of each Billing Period at the then-current price unless you cancel or disable auto-renewal before the renewal date. You will receive a reminder email 7 days before your renewal date.
You can disable auto-renewal at any time from your Account settings. Disabling auto-renewal does not cancel your subscription immediately — you retain access to your Plan until the end of the current Billing Period.
5.3 Mid-Period Upgrades (Proration)
You may upgrade your Plan at any time during an active Billing Period. On upgrade, you will be charged only the prorated difference for the remaining days in the current billing cycle. The new Plan and its features take effect immediately upon successful payment. Prorated charges are not refundable.
6. Free Trial
New users may be eligible for a 7-day free trial of the Standard Plan. A valid payment method is required at sign-up. You will not be charged during the trial period.
If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your payment method will be automatically charged the Standard Plan monthly rate ($19/mo) on the day the trial expires, and your subscription will continue on a monthly basis.
To avoid being charged, cancel your subscription from your Account settings before the trial end date. We will send a reminder before the trial expires.
7. Plan Changes
7.1 Monthly Plan Downgrade
Users on a monthly Plan may downgrade to a lower tier at any time from their Account settings. The downgrade takes effect at the start of the next billing month. You retain your current Plan's features until the end of the current paid period. No refund is issued for the remainder of the current month.
7.2 Annual Plan Downgrade
Users on an annual Plan who wish to downgrade must contact our support team at [email protected]. Annual plan downgrades take effect at the next annual renewal date — you retain your current Plan's features until your annual period ends. No refund or account credit is issued for the price difference.
7.3 Upgrades
You may upgrade your Plan at any time. See Section 5.3 for proration details.
8. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your Account settings or by contacting [email protected].
* Monthly Plans: cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing month. You retain access until then. No refund for remaining days.
* Annual Plans: cancellation takes effect at the end of the current annual period. You retain access until then. No refund for unused months.
Upon cancellation, your Account reverts to the Freemium plan (subject to Freemium limits). Your data is retained in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing [email protected].
9. AI Credits

Credits that are not used within the rollover period expire automatically and are not refunded or compensated. Add-on credits roll over for 1 month only.

Add-ons are billed monthly and renew automatically. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing month. Add-on charges for the current billing period are non-refundable.
11. Open Banking and Financial Data
The Service connects to your bank accounts via Open Banking to retrieve transaction data, balances, and account information.
* You authorise access by explicitly connecting your bank account(s) within the Service.
* You can revoke Open Banking access at any time from your Account settings or from your bank's own app. Revocation stops future data retrieval but does not automatically delete historical data already imported.
* We process your Open Banking data solely to provide the Service. We do not share it with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.
thing.am is a financial management tool, not a payment initiation service. We do not move money between accounts or initiate financial transactions on your behalf.
12. Third-Party Integrations
The Service supports integrations with HubSpot, MCP-compatible services (Advanced/Enterprise), and external APIs (Enterprise). By enabling an integration you:
* authorise the exchange of data between the Service and the connected tool;
* acknowledge that the connected service's own terms and privacy policy apply to data handled by that service;
* take responsibility for ensuring the integration's use complies with applicable law.
We are not responsible for the actions, availability, or data practices of third-party services.
13. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:
* use the Service in any way that violates applicable law or regulation;
* attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or another user's account;
* use automated tools, bots, or scripts to scrape or extract data from the Service;
* reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service;
* resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercialise access to the Service without our written consent;
* upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any other harmful code;
* use the Service to process data that infringes any third party's intellectual property or privacy rights;
* use AI-generated outputs as professional financial, investment, legal, or tax advice (see Section 14).
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your Account without notice for violations of this section.
14. Financial Information Disclaimer
thing.am is a financial management and analytics tool. It is not a regulated financial adviser, investment manager, accountant, or tax adviser. Nothing in the Service — including AI CFO Chat outputs, cash flow forecasts, P&L reports, or financial recommendations — constitutes financial, investment, accounting, or tax advice.
All outputs are generated from data you provide and are for informational and planning purposes only. You should consult a qualified financial professional before making financial decisions based on information generated by the Service.
PMD Solutions LLC is not liable for any financial decisions made in reliance on information provided by the Service.
15. Intellectual Property
15.1 Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, trade marks, and all content created by PMD Solutions LLC, is owned by PMD Solutions LLC or its licensors. "startthing.com", the startthing.com logo, and associated marks are trademarks of PMD Solutions LLC. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trade marks without our prior written consent.
15.2 Your content
You retain ownership of all Content you submit to the Service. By using the Service, you grant PMD Solutions LLC a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, store, process, and display your Content solely as necessary to provide the Service to you.
We will not use your financial or business data for any purpose other than providing and improving the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
16. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PMD SOLUTIONS LLC DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.
17. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PMD SOLUTIONS LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRACTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR: (a) any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages; (b) loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity; (c) any losses arising from your reliance on AI-generated outputs; or (d) any unauthorised access to or alteration of your data.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $100.
18. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless PMD Solutions LLC and its officers, employees, and contractors from and against any claims, damages, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service in violation of these Terms; (b) your violation of applicable law or any third-party right; or (c) Content you submit to the Service.
19. Service Availability and Changes
We will make reasonable efforts to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time with reasonable advance notice for material changes to paid features.
Features marked "Roadmap" in our product documentation are planned but not yet live and must not be relied upon as current functionality.
20. Termination
Either party may terminate at any time. We may suspend or terminate your Account immediately if:
* you materially breach these Terms and fail to remedy it within 14 days of notice;
* you engage in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal use of the Service;
* we are required to do so by law or a regulatory authority; or
* we decide to discontinue the Service (with reasonable notice).
On termination, your right to access the Service ceases. Your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Sections 14–18 and 20–23 survive termination.
21. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Armenia, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Armenia.
22. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email to your registered address and/or by a notice within the Service, at least 14 days before the new Terms take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
23. General
* Entire agreement: these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and Refund Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and PMD Solutions LLC regarding the Service.
* Severability: if any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
* No waiver: our failure to enforce any right does not constitute a waiver of that right.
* Assignment: you may not assign your rights without our prior written consent. We may assign ours in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
* Language: in the event of any conflict between a translation and the English version, English prevails.
